Haodong Road is named after Haodong Lu, a revolutionary in the Qing Dynasty. He worked with Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the first provisional president and founding father of the Republic of China, to plan uprisings against the Qing Dynasty. Haodong Lu is claimed the first person in the history of China's revolutionary sacrifice for the Republican Revolution. He is the designer of the Blue Sky with a White Sun Flag, which is part of our national flag and the national emblem of the Republic of China.
